save changes made to x-ray
When changing orientation of an x-ray (e.g. flipping rad so right is on the left part of the screen), allow the user to save this change.

A User can save the orientation and actually the entire display state (pan, zoom, window level) of an image. This is saved as an Annotation which is associated with the DICOM image. Below is a link that will discuss how to save and work with Annotations.
