3D Cursor button for multiplanar images.
A 3D Cursor button for multiplane images. In EFilm there is a r click button that locates a point in all three planes. The closest function button for this action is MPR on/off that allows 3D location on one true image and location on reconstructed images that are blurry.

Must expand search and sort filters in study list
Although there are a few separate suggestions along these lines, I would like to impress upon you the need to expand your search and sort options to match those which are/were available in eFilm. Sorting studies by timestamp within a given day range is absolutely necessary for a big, multi-building hospital with a large imaging caseload; it is crucial for identifying studies as they are made to prevent delayed or missing paperwork from causing cases to fall through the cracks. This also allows quick and easy identification of cases done overnight by the emergency staff. Searching and sorting cases by…

Cine Play
There should be an option to allow cine loops to autoplay by default. Cine play should also be hotkey assignable to eliminate the need to continuously click the play button for each stack.
2 votesThank you for the suggestion. We will review how this can best be implemented in a future development cycle. We appreciate the feedback for optimizing the features.

Disable User Password Change
With multiple vets, I imagine there may be the odd person who decides to change the password, which will change it for everybody. Clearly this can be reset in admin mode, but is it possible to disengage this from the user platform?

Export JPEG images in acquisition order
Currently exporting studies locally in JPEG format does not save the images in acquisition order. When doctors email the images to the patient owner, it looks bad that they are not listed in order.
2 votesThank you for the feedback. This is planned for the next development cycle. At this time a work around can be to export the JPEG images from the AIS Study List. This will export the images by the Date and Time DICOM stamps.

Export JPEG File Compression - Too Large
Customers email JPEG images and the size of the JPEG images exported limits the number of images that can be attached to a single email. If the user could adjust the JPEG compression to make the images smaller on export, more images can be attached to a single email.
Users want the same level of compression by default for Local Export of JPEG with or without the Overlay burned into the image.
Users want to specify the level of compression on JPEG export.

Confirmation dialog for Network Exports
When you export to a network device the window just disappears and there is no confirmation that it will send. This causes the user to be unsure and resend studies causing further backlog due to resends.
2 votesThank you for the feedback. We will look at how export confirmations can be optimized in a future development cycle.
When a study is exported, the user should review the export queue for confirmation of the status of transmission. If the export is local, the Local Queue will have the current status of the export. If the export is over the Network, the Network Queue will have the current status. This is the best way to view and verify the export completed successfully as the queue will display the progress and will display the transmission is complete or if there was an error.
More details on the Local Queue can be found here:

DICOM forwarding rules based on Institution tag
Some sites have multiple practices within the same building. These sites are looking to use the SmartPACS to route by Institution name to send the images to distinct destinations. They do not want to see each other's images.

OrthoPlan Cut Out - Green Line is UNDER measurement lines
When a surgeon is applying the Magnetic Lasso Cutout, the Cutout line appears UNDER the other measurement lines in the image. The result is low visibility on where the active cutout is located and adds to the user confusion. While the cutout tool is active, and the shape has not yet been completed / cut, the green line should appear on top of the measurement line for better visibility to the user. See attached image.png for reference.

Export Images with GSPS Object as JPG/JPEG
OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) require images to be submitted by either DICOM or jpg/jpeg format ONLY. Images must be attached to an email and may not be submitted through any online viewing service (AIS, View Cloud, etc).

Support to Store Endoscopy Images - MPEG
Some endoscopy equipment uses MPEG format and requires different Transfer Syntax for storage. This request is to add the ability to store endoscopy images using the transfer syntax listed below:
Transfer Syntax UID Transfer Syntax name

enable ct window hotkeys on mpr
Please enable the CT Window preset hotkeys usable within the MPR functionality. Sometimes my CT spits out the first few slices in an incorrect window - when the study is MPR'd, it retains the inappropriate window, and I am unable to use the CT Window hotkeys within the MPR mode.

Change logging directory
VM customers are looking for ways to make their systems more efficient and several have asked me about the ability to move the directory for which logs are stored to another disk.

Set SQL backup time of day manually
Add option from Settings GUI to specify the time of day that the SQL backup run. Example, VM customer with large database would like them run at 1am. Currently to configure that we must go to the GUI and make the change to backup timeframe at 1am and set 24hours so it runs at that period.

Would it, could it, should it be possible to add a "save Echo cine loops as .avi" function ?
The ability to save echocardiogram cine loops as an .avi file would be an invaluable tool for Cardiologists who wish to create powerpoints with imbedded videos.

Field of View (FOV)/ Region of Interest (ROI) Feature
If I have 2 CTs up from 2 different dates, is there a way I can make the FOV the same? At this time the studies need to me manually set and then linked. A tool to automatically set the FOV would help avoid the manual step prior to linking.

Provide MAC support for eFilm Lite
When you export studies with viewer included, these are unviewable to MAC users (clients, colleagues, rDVMs, etc). Very frustrating that we basically have to go tell them to download OsiriX or another MAC software just to view their DICOM images.

Viewer to Support SD Modality
An IO modality includes SD DICOM files that do not contain image data. These are Structured Display files. More information and interest needs to be gathered related to how the SmartPACS Viewers can include and fully utilize SD files.
“SD is not an image file but more like a dicom protocol on how to display a set of images in a structured way (ex. different templates for dental display). You still can display individual dental xray but you lose the structure (relationship) among different teeth.”
